Mission

The keystone of our mission statement is our commitment to meet the needs of seniors who can no longer live independently, by providing residential long-term care and other support services in a traditional Jewish environment. Based on our own guiding principles as well as the Torah commandment to honour thy father and mother, our residents are the most important focus of our attention and ongoing efforts. The services provided to our residents are organized to offer options and opportunities to address each resident's physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual needs, including end-of-life care. Registered nurses/registered practical nurses are on staff, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and a group of expert physicians to attend to our residents needs.  Our Executive Director,  Stephen Schneiderman has been with the Lodge since 1985. With respect to all our employees, we our proud to feature a large cadre of long service staff.

Hillel Lodge is grateful to be a funded member agency of the Jewish Federation of Ottawa. We are also a transfer payment agency of the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (MOHLTC); are recognized as a Charitable Home; and operate under the Long Term Care Homes Act 2007. Our primary focus is on providing our residents with the highest possible standards for care. We have been recognized by an independent examining body, Accreditation Canada, which has awarded us Accreditation in recognition of our high standards of quality care and service.
