Pastoral Care

The Home supports each resident’s right to celebrate his or her faith and will attempt to meet the spiritual needs of residents and their families within their religious affiliation.

Interdenominational Services – A room is made available for services outside of the Jewish faith.  Services are specifically scheduled for Christmas and Easter.  Requests should be directed to Director of Social Work, Programs and Support,  Joanna Abrams or Manager of Recreation and Volunteers, Marilyn Adler.

Synagogue – Synagogue services are held in the Abraham and Dora Lithwick Chapel on the first floor every Shabbat (Saturday) and all Jewish Holy Days.

There is no cost to residents attending Synagogue.  Immediate family members who regularly take/accompany their relative (resident) for services may also participate free of charge as long as the resident is present.  Nevertheless, family members will be encouraged to become or remain members of another Synagogue and pay an associate membership fee to the Home.  See the Co-ordinator of Pastoral Care, Rabbi L. Teitlebaum or in his absence, the Chief Executive Officer, Stephen Schneiderman  regarding  associate membership fees.
